The Soil pH Meter is a small and lightweight device that measures the soil acidity present in your garden soil, giving you fast and accurate readings of soil pH levels.

The Soil pH Tester does not operate on batteries: it works by generating its own small flow of electrical current, which is triggered by the use of two different metals (the silver rings on the lower part of the housing). Insert the meter 2" deep into moist soil, pressing the soil tightly against the metal rings. In minutes, the pH level is displayed on the dial.

To obtain a reading, a small amount of moisture must be present in the soil, and the metal rings must be cleaned with the included Conditioning Film Sheets. First, use a clean rag or paper towel and place it against the rings, gently rubbing them to remove soil and unseen debris. Then use the Film Sheets to wipe the metal rings clean. Clean the rings often, or you may receive an incorrect reading. One Film Sheet is good for 20 uses or whenever the rubbing fails to cause the needle to deflect to the right when inserted in soil.
