This walk-behind broadcast spreader has been designed with high-quality materials that ensure optimal performance all winter season long. Enclosed metal gears are built to withstand the outdoor elements, while its heavy duty stainless steel frame will fully support the hopper at its base.

Designed for spreading granular ice melt, salt, halite (rock salt), and other pretreat and de-icing solutions, this Chapin push spreader features an adjustable 360 degree baffle system that enables you to only spread where you want to by controlling the flow of salt or ice melt from the hopper. An auger in the hopper helps to stir up the product and reduce clumping. Perfect for spreading ice melt and salt on driveways, walkways, pathways, and other areas that are laced with snow and ice to help reduce slipping accidents.

The unique design and the placement of the gate helps to ensure an even spread pattern and distribution of product each time you spread. The gate is now 43% larger for a smoother flow of material. The placement of the gate is located right on the stainless steel T-handle for easy access.

Its 14" air-filled tires provide you with great stability over terrain that is uneven or rocky.

Included with this Chapin 82108 Salt / Ice Melt Broadcast Spreader is a hopper grate and a rain cover. The hopper grate helps to reduce clumping and therefore improves the flow of salt or ice melt. The rain cover shields the material inside the hopper from rain or snow.

Note: Empty the hopper if any ice melt or rock salt remains inside once you are finished because they can damage the metal parts if left exposed for extended amounts of time.
