Reduce the amount of slipping accidents occurring because of snow and ice formation during the winter months with the Chapin 82088 Professional Salt / Ice Melt Push Spreader. 

Fill the 80 lb. capacity hopper with salt, halite (rock salt), pretreat and de-ice solutions, or granular ice melt and spread your product onto driveways, walkways, pathways, etc. This will help to reduce slipping incidents from happening because of snow and ice.

Chapin's SureSpread technology combines two key factors to enable for an even spread pattern each time you spread: Its innovative gate design, which is now 43% larger to allow for product to flow much smoother, and the placement of the gate, which gives you full control at your fingertips on the powder-coated steel T-handle. 

The solid steel linkage on this Chapin walk-behind / broadcast spreader allows you to open and close the gate in incremental steps. The adjustable salt baffle system will help control the flow of salt and spread salt exactly where you desire, while the patent-pending poly conical auger helps agitate the product and limit clumping.

Included is a grate that helps reduce clumping, and as a result, improves the flow of salt or ice melt. Also included is a rain cover to protect the material inside the hopper from rain or snow.

Note: Empty the hopper if any ice melt or rock salt remains inside once you are finished because they can damage the metal parts if left exposed for extended amounts of time.
