Designed for attachment to the JD9-C Spray Gun (sold separately), the Hudson 201-RF Root Feeder (38919) can be used for below-the-surface applications of liquid pesticides and fertilizers at high pressure to deep root feed nutrients to ornamental shrubs and trees.
Before you start deep root feeding, you will need a professional pumping system that can handle a maximum pressure of 1000 PSI. We recommend using a diaphragm pump because it is strong enough to handle such a rootfeeding task. Once your pumping system is setup and ready to go, remove the barrel of the JD9-C Spray Gun and attach the 201-RF to the JD9-C. You can now apply to nutrient deficient trees and shrubs.
Insert the probe on the 201-RF Rootfeeder into the soil near trees and shrubs. You can pressure rootfeed from 2" to 10" deep into the soil, with your injected product quickly reaching the root zone.
Rootfeeding is a much better method than just spraying foliage with fertilizers because it provides satisfactory by allowing the feed to quickly absorb into the plant through its roots. The 201-RF Root Feeder can be used for more than just applying liquid pesticides and fertilizers to your trees and shrubs as well. You can use it for applying chelated iron to iron deficient trees and shrubs or for high pressure liquid injection for aerification purposes. The high pressure lance can inject streams of water 4" to 10" deep into turf and loosen the soil, making it perfect for use on golf courses, sports turfs, and other areas where plugs and soil cores from conventional methods of aerating can hinder game play.
